Copies the customer, job, invoice number, total, and what's left to pay from the invoice maker in this browser.

Took a deposit? Fills in a deposit receipt from the estimate maker in this browser: the customer, job, estimate total, and deposit.

1. Your business

2. Who paid, and for what

3. The payment

This tool doesn't take payments or store card numbers. For a card payment, type only the last 4 digits.

4. Notes and signature

Example wording, not legal or tax advice. A receipt records a payment. It doesn't replace your contract or change your terms. Ask your accountant how to record deposits and partial payments and how long to keep copies.

5. Your receipt

Preview. This is what prints. Empty fields are left off.

6. Send it

Save the receipt as a PDF, then send it with one of these. The messages change with the payment type. Your customer's first name, the job, the amounts, your business, and your name are filled in from the receipt. Anything still in [brackets] is yours to finish.

Still waiting on the rest? The free payment reminder maker fills in friendly, firm, and final reminders for the balance. Paid in full? Ask for a review with the free review link and QR code generator. Need the invoice first? Use the free invoice maker. See all eight on the free tools page.

Landscaping receipt questions

What should a landscaping receipt include?

Your business name and phone, a receipt number, the date paid, the customer and property address, the job, the amount, and how they paid. On a job paid in steps, show the job total, what was paid before, and the balance remaining, with when the rest is due. Sign it if they paid in person.

How do I write a receipt for a partial payment?

Pick Partial payment, enter this payment, the job total, and anything paid before (like the deposit). The receipt shows the balance remaining. When the last payment comes in, make another receipt marked paid in full.

Do I need a receipt for a Zelle or Venmo payment?

The app keeps a record, but it doesn't say which job it was for. A receipt with the job, the amount, and the balance left ties it together for the customer and your books. Add the confirmation code in the reference box if you have it.

How do I give receipts for monthly lawn care?

Make one receipt per payment, with the month in the job line ("October lawn care") and the invoice number if you sent one. Click Start a new receipt each month. The receipt number goes up by one and your business details stay.
