Your business details are saved in this browser and shared with the invoice maker, so you only type them once. Already invoiced this job here? Start from that invoice and the customer, job, number, dates, and balance come over.

Copies the customer, job, invoice number, dates, balance due, and how to pay from the invoice maker in this browser.

1. Your business

2. The unpaid invoice

3. Reminder schedule

Each step is counted in days after the due date. Change the numbers to fit how you collect. The calendar date updates as you type.

The "pay by" date in the firm and final messages is 7 days after that reminder's send date. Change it with the pay-by box on each of those steps.

Not legal advice. Late fees and collection steps vary by state and city. Only mention a late fee or other next step that is already in your written terms and allowed where you work.

4. Reminder schedule card

Preview. This is what prints. Empty fields are left off. Keep a printed copy by the phone.

5. Copy and send

Your customer's first name, the job, the invoice number, the dates, the balance, your phone, your business, and your name are filled in. Anything still in [brackets] is yours to finish. Tick "Mark reminder sent" when you send each step.

More wording options are on the payment reminders page. Need to resend the invoice itself? Use the free invoice maker. After they pay, ask for a review with the free review link and QR code generator, or grab other customer texts from the text generator. See all seven on the free tools page.

Payment reminder questions, answered plainly

When should I send each payment reminder?

A common rhythm for home-service invoices is a friendly reminder 3 to 5 days after the due date, a firmer one around 14 days past due, and a final notice around 30 days. Change the day offsets here to match how you work. Space them out so the customer has time to pay between each one.

What should a payment reminder say?

State the facts: the customer's name, the invoice number, the amount, the job, the due date, and how to pay. Stay polite. The friendly one assumes they forgot; the firm one asks for a clear pay-by date and offers a phone number if something is wrong; the final notice mentions only next steps that are already in your written terms.

Can I start from an invoice I already made here?

Yes. If you used the free invoice maker in this browser, click "Start from my last invoice." It copies the customer, job, invoice number, dates, balance due, and how-to-pay lines. You can still change anything.

What is the reminder schedule card for?

It is a one-page sheet with the invoice details, the three reminder dates, and the text for each step. Print it or save it as a PDF and keep it by the phone so you know what to send and when. Tick "Mark reminder sent" on each step as you go; that stays in this browser.

Can I mention a late fee?

Only if a late fee is already in your written terms from before the work, and only if it is allowed where you work. Late-fee rules vary by state and city. This tool's final-notice messages leave a blank for that line so you can fill in what your terms actually say. General information, not legal advice.

Is my information private?

Yes. Everything you type, including your logo and which reminders you marked sent, stays in this browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data clears your saved reminders too.
